The Broadway Flyer: May 2025

Happy Friday, everyone!

Summer is in full swing, and we’re gearing up for an action-packed season! From attending shows and unveiling new product announcements to opening up the mailbag and answering your questions from social media and email, there’s a lot on the horizon. We’ve got plenty to cover—so without further ado, let’s dive in!

Need some parts?! We've got you covered!

We are excited to host you at our headquarters in Florida for our garage sale! This event will take place only on June 7th from 8 AM to 5 PM.

Here are more details for the event.

  • Guests will be able to purchase surplus locomotive and rolling stock parts in both HO and N scale at discounted prices.
  • Parts include shells, wheels, chassis, handrails, and much more!
  • All new In-Stock items will be available at 50% off.
  • Trains will be running on our layout for you to check out!
  • Meet Ken Silvestri and other members of the BLI team!
  • Our headquarters are located at Ormond Beach, Florida at 9 East Tower Circle

If you can't make the in person event, you will be able to purchase grab bags online for $29.99. Grab Bags can be chosen by the scale (HO or N) and are guaranteed 2 pounds of parts per bag. The parts in the bag will be randomized.

Whether you're an experienced modeler or just starting out, this grab bag is a fun and affordable way to expand your parts collection and let your imagination run wild. Every bag is different, so you'll never know exactly what you're going to get—but that's half the fun!

PLEASE NOTE: Grab bags will be shipped following the in person June 7th Garage sale event at our Florida headquarters.

Samples, Renders, and more!

One of the newest samples to come through the office is our Union Pacific Big Boy 4014 with PTC details. The Big Boys are set to arrive to LA on June 5th. Depending upon how long customs takes, we hope that they will arrive to dealers sometime the following week.

In The News:

Jimmy from the DIY and Digital Railroad received one of our HO scale Conductor's Club Challengers and loved it! You can click on the image above to watch his video!

Here’s another great video from Jimmy that we highly recommend checking out! In this one, he uses a pair of our new N scale switchers to demonstrate a fun and creative way to simulate tasks on your layout—like unlocking a switch—for more realistic and engaging operations. It’s a clever approach that adds extra depth to your running sessions. Click the thumbnail above to watch!

Our friends at The Steam Channel recently reviewed the 2025 Conductor's Club Challenger #3985. You can click the thumbnail above to watch their video on the model.

Conductor's Club Members, don't forget to order!

Attention Conductor's Club members! Now is the time to order your exclusive ES44's in both HO and N scale. In case you missed it, this years club locomotive has an order deadline of June 30th, 2025.

The paint schemes offered in this run include:

What makes the Conductor's Club great is the opportunity to purchase these locomotives at a members-only price point. Here are the prices of the ES44's.

CPKC 9375 had the distinguished honor of being one of the first two locomotives to be painted in it's "Golden Beaver" scheme. The occasion was launched when it was on display with the recently restored Royal Hudson no. 2816 at Kansas City Union Station.

The Union Pacific 7400 was a commemorative locomotive that the railroad created to celebrate their support of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

CSX has been releasing several different heritage units over the last few years. This includes the Western Maryland and Georgia Railroad.

Delivery Schedule:

We recently updated our delivery schedule. Below is a reflection of what it currently stands at. Please note that BLI will fill orders placed after the guaranteed delivery date on a first-come first-served basis while supplies last.

Customer Q&A:

The last section of The Broadway Flyer is all about you, our amazing customers! Every month, we reach out through social media and email, inviting you to send in your questions—and you never disappoint. Whether you're curious about upcoming releases, production timelines, or just wondering what’s next, we love hearing from you. We've gathered a fresh batch of questions, and we’re excited to dive in and share some answers straight from the team!

Q: "Could we see an union pacific #1616 in the future in ho scale?" – Derek on Facebook

A: At this point in time, no—mainly because we do not have any tooling for that locomotive type.

Q: "Any smaller N scale steam coming down the line? Particular 2-8-0s, which seem to be a common request. Its been months since we've had any news." – Jaelon on Facebook

A: We have several N scale steam ideas on our radar, but right now we’re focusing on the N scale Santa Fe 3751 and UP Late Challengers.

Q: "When will there be an HO Scale CB&Q steam engine produced?" – Dave on Facebook

A: We have several CB&Q prototype ideas on our radar. It will most likely be a few years before we decide to move forward with one.

Q: "Are you guys going to restock the Paragon 4 sp gs-4" – Luke on Facebook

A: Yes, we do plan to announce a second production run of the SP GS-4s later this year.

Q: "And any update on the Allegheny and Santa Fe 2-10-10-2 in HO scale?" – Tiger on Facebook

A: At this time, we do not have plans for the Allegheny. The Santa Fe 2-10-10-2 is still in development, but we don’t have a timeline for an announcement yet.

Q: "What is the selection process to pick a new model? After we submit one in the portal what happens?" – Jude on Facebook

A: Each year, we plan which models we want to build for the following 1–2 years, including re-runs and new products. We closely monitor the product suggestion portal—if we see a suggestion being submitted frequently, we move it up the list.

Q: "When will we hear about the next Conductor's Club locomotive?" – Daniel on Facebook

A: We’re working on the plans for next year’s club locomotive! However, we’re not quite ready to tease what it is just yet.

Q: "Do you have any plans for more small steam locomotives?" – Espen on Facebook

A: Yes, we definitely have plans for more small steam locomotives! We can’t share details yet, but there are some exciting prototypes in the works.

Q: "Are the N scale 3751 locomotives still coming in 2026 or are the tariffs changing the plans?" – Robert on Facebook

A: Yes, the N scale 3751 locomotives are still coming! They’re still slated for 2026. We’re expecting some tooling samples in the next few months.

Q: "Are you planning to add anymore diesel models in diecast with smoke? Like ES44’s or Dash 9’s or sd40-2’s, etc.?" – Josh on Facebook

A: Given the positive feedback we’ve received on the diecast SD70ACes, yes—we are looking into the possibility of building more diecast diesels. We haven’t decided which models yet, but it’s definitely something on our radar.

Q: "How about a N&W M class like Strasburg 475?" – Tim on Facebook

A: The N&W M class is on our radar! We don’t have a timeline to share yet, but it’s definitely a model we’d love to build in the future.

Q: "Is there any progress on PRR S-1?" – Richard on Facebook

A: The designs are complete! We’re now waiting on our first sample for evaluation. Models in our Brass-Hybrid line typically take longer to build, since the tenders and boilers are hand-crafted. The factory currently working on this project is finishing up the UP "Bullmoose," which is due to arrive this winter.

Q: "Any update on the unstreamlined CNW E Class Pacific?" – Alexander on Facebook

A: We are finalizing those designs now and hope to have an announcement later this year or early next year. No firm timeline just yet.

Q: "Will you be making more of the UP business fleet?" – siksean_2727 on Instagram

A: Yes! We plan to make more of the special cars that haven’t been readily available in HO scale. N scalers can also look forward to seeing UP Business Cars that we've offered in HO.

Q: Those new Montana Rail Link SD45’s look awesome! Can we expect more MRL power soon? Like a new run of GP35’s? – chase_engley on Instagram

A: We're glad you like them! We’ll definitely consider more MRL power for future production runs.

Q: "My emd e8/e9s that are stuck on the boat. Are those gonna hit land anytime soon?" – dime_buildz on Instagram

A: We’re hoping they arrive sometime in June, with expected delivery to dealers in July—assuming everything clears customs smoothly.

Q: "Any possibility of BL getting in the O market?" – trainbros89 on Instagram

A: We don’t have any plans to enter the O scale market at this time.

That wraps up the May edition of The Broadway Flyer. Thanks again to all of you—our amazing customers! We hope you have a great weekend and enjoy the start to your summer!

From all of us at BLI, happy railroading!
