NEW PRODUCT ANNOUNCEMENT: PRR B6sb 0-6-0 Switcher, HO Scale

Broadway Limited Imports is proud to announce our first steam switcher in HO scale, the PRR B6sb. These switchers could be found in major freight yards, passenger yards, and occasionally on branch line duty. With over 36,000 lbs of tractive effort, these 0-6-0s effectively performed their duties. Throughout World War I and World War II, they were ubiquitous on the PRR. Eventually retired during the late 1940s and early 1950s, they were replaced by diesel switchers, which were becoming more commonplace on railroads.

These locomotives will be incredibly detailed. The PRR THS assisted us with this project, and we believe that these locomotives will be 'must-haves' for Pennsylvania Railroad modelers.

These switchers could be found in major freight yards, passenger yards, and could occasionally be found on branch line duty. With over 36,000 lbs of Tractive Effort these 0-6-0's did their job effectively. Through World War 1 and World War 2, they could be seen pretty much everywhere on the PRR. They were eventually pulled during the late 1940's and early 1950's in favor of diesel switchers that were becoming more common place on the railroads.

Today 1 B6sb survived and can be seen in the Railroad Museum Of Pennsylvania located in Strasburg, Pa.

In our first production run, we are offering 3 different variations of the PRR B6sb, 1 unlettered version with DGLE paint, and 2 exclusives.

There was an operating B6sb in the Mechanicsburg Pa area. Will you be doing #5244? 5244 was the last PRR stream engine in service on the Union Transportation co. line in New Egypt. 5244’s last run was July 1959.

Where’s the UP 0-6-0 switchers?

Andrew Arteaga

finally, a switcher from BLI. I like big steam but a couple of switchers on my layout would be ideal!

Thanks – I am happy to see this. There has been so much emphasis on big locos that the switchers seem forgotten. A steam era railroad without switchers is not very impressive. The B6 and A5 have always been some of my favorites.

Many thanks for promising this lovely little switcher!
I plan to order two locos as I believe it will be central to my layout.
Best regards from England,
John E.
