The EMD F3, a diesel locomotive with a power output of 1,500 horsepower, was manufactured by General Motors' Electro-Motive Division from 1945 to 1949. As the third model in EMD's highly successful F-unit series of cab unit diesels, the F3 ranked second in terms of production quantity, surpassed only by the F7. These locomotives found extensive use in both freight and passenger service. EMD constructed over 1,100 A-units and nearly 700 B-units of the F3, solidifying its popularity.
For our production, we have meticulously recreated A and B-units from eight different railroads, ensuring accurate road numbers and authentic paint schemes. We offer A-B sets comprising of Powered A-units equipped with Paragon4 Sound and unpowered B-units. Additionally, we provide separate single A and B-units featuring our comprehensive Paragon4 DC/DCC/Sound system. Every model in our collection incorporates road-specific details and lighting to enhance realism.
In addition to our Paragon4 models, these locomotives are also available in our Stealth series. Our Stealth Series offering will consist of No-Sound / DCC-Ready single A-units and single B-units. All of our models have road-specific details.

The EMD F7, a diesel locomotive with a power output of 1,500 horsepower, was manufactured by General Motors' Electro-Motive Division from 1949 to 1953. As EMD's fourth model in the renowned line of F-unit locomotives, the F7 holds the distinction of being the highest-selling cab unit locomotive in history. While the F7 shared many similarities with its predecessor, the F3, it featured notable external changes such as updated grills and dynamic brake hatches. Internally, the F7 showcased advancements in equipment. Operating in both passenger and freight service, numerous F7 locomotives served for several decades.
In our production, we meticulously replicate A and B-units from nine different railroads, ensuring accurate road numbers and authentic paint schemes. We offer A-B sets consisting of Powered A-units equipped with Paragon4 Sound and unpowered B-units. Additionally, we provide separate single A and B-units (where applicable) with our comprehensive Paragon4 DC/DCC/Sound system. All of our models incorporate road-specific details and lighting, enhancing their authenticity.
In addition to our Paragon4 models, these locomotives are also available in our Stealth series. Our Stealth Series offering will consist of No-Sound / DCC-Ready single A-units and single B-units. All of our models have road-specific details.

Constructed between 1950 and 1953, the RF-16 Sharknose diesels were cab unit locomotives manufactured by the Baldwin Locomotive Works, specifically designed to meet the Pennsylvania Railroad's requirements. These locomotives featured distinctive contours inspired by Raymond Loewy's design for the Pennsy's T1 class steam locomotive. Baldwin produced a total of 160 Sharknose units, comprising 109 A-units and 51 cabless booster B-units. Apart from the PRR, the Baltimore and Ohio (B&O) and New York Central (NYC) railroads also operated a significant number of these "Sharks."
Renowned for their exceptional hauling capabilities, the Sharknose locomotives were frequently employed to pull heavy ore and coal trains. With 100 additional horsepower compared to the F7 and equaling the FA2 with 1600 horsepower, the RF-16 Sharknose locomotives delivered impressive performance. However, their operational lifespan fell short of the F7's longevity, as most of the units, with a few exceptions, were retired by 1967.
In this production, we offer A-B sets featuring four meticulously recreated paint schemes that closely resemble the prototypes. Additionally, a separate A-unit is available for individual purchase. We also provide the two Delaware and Hudson (D&H) Sharks as single A-units. Alongside the prototypically accurate models, we present several fantasy paint schemes that were never realized on actual railroads but would have been visually striking. Although the Central Railroad of New Jersey (CNJ) and Missouri Pacific (MP) owned Baldwin babyface locomotives, they did not order the Sharks. Nevertheless, we have adorned some models with CNJ and MP liveries as if these railroads had operated the Sharknose locomotives. Furthermore, the Duluth, Missabe and Iron Range (DMIR) briefly owned the EJ&E Sharks, which were never repainted. Our models faithfully replicate the DMIR paint scheme.
Traditionally, the railroads operated the Sharknose locomotives in ABA configurations. Our A-B sets include a Powered A-unit equipped with Paragon4 Sound/DC/DCC and an unpowered B-unit with a lightweight frame. We also offer an additional single powered A-unit for each paint scheme, as appropriate, featuring our comprehensive Paragon4 Sound/DC/DCC system. All our models are meticulously detailed and feature road-specific lighting, enhancing their authenticity.
In addition to our Paragon4 models, these locomotives are also available in our Stealth series. Our Stealth Series offering will consist of No-Sound / DCC-Ready single A-units and single B-units. All of our models have road-specific details.
